Logo and Site Identity

Navigate to:

Appearance → Customize → Site Identity

You can modify:

  • Site title
  • Tagline
  • Logo
  • Site icon

Homepage Content

Navigate to:

Appearance → Customize → Homepage Content

Theme Colors

The primary theme variables are located near the beginning of style.css.

Example:

:root {
  --ml-bg: #f7f8fa;
  --ml-surface: #ffffff;
  --ml-text: #1f2937;
  --ml-muted: #6b7280;
  --ml-primary: #1dbf73;
  --ml-primary-dark: #169b5e;
}

Use a child theme when editing PHP or CSS files to prevent future updates from overwriting modifications.

27. Translation

The theme uses the text domain:

marketlance

Translation files can be created with a translation plugin such as Loco Translate.

Typical path:

wp-content/languages/themes/

Some text may be directly written inside template files and may require manual editing.

28. Recommended Plugins

The core marketplace functions are included in the theme. Additional plugins may still be useful for:

  • Website backups
  • Security and firewall protection
  • SMTP email delivery
  • Image optimization
  • Page caching
  • SEO
  • Cookie consent
  • Spam protection
  • Database optimization

Install only trusted plugins that are compatible with your WordPress and PHP versions.

29. Security Recommendations

  • Enable HTTPS.
  • Use strong administrator passwords.
  • Keep WordPress updated.
  • Keep the theme and plugins updated.
  • Use an SMTP service for reliable emails.
  • Limit accepted upload file types.
  • Configure maximum upload sizes.
  • Scan uploaded files.
  • Back up the website regularly.
  • Manually verify payment transactions.
  • Review seller reports and chat violations.
  • Never approve a payment using only a screenshot.
  • Test updates on a staging website first.

30. Troubleshooting

Theme Installation Failed

Ensure that you are uploading the installable theme ZIP rather than the full downloaded package.

Styles Are Not Loading

  • Clear the browser cache.
  • Clear the caching plugin.
  • Clear the hosting cache.
  • Confirm that the site URL uses the correct HTTP or HTTPS protocol.

Service Page Shows 404

Navigate to:

Settings → Permalinks

Click Save Changes without changing anything.

Marketplace Pages Are Missing

Deactivate and reactivate the theme. The required pages should be created automatically.

Do not repeatedly activate the theme on a live website without creating a backup.

Seller Dashboard Redirects to Login

Confirm that:

  • The user is logged in.
  • The user registered as a seller.
  • Seller onboarding is complete.
  • The seller role is assigned correctly.

Buyer Cannot Open Order Workspace

The workspace becomes available only after:

  • The buyer has submitted an order.
  • The seller has accepted the order.
  • The logged-in user belongs to that order.

File Upload Failed

Check:

  • PHP upload limit
  • WordPress upload limit
  • File size
  • File type
  • Folder permissions
  • Server security rules

Payment Is Not Automatically Verified

This is expected. The included payment system requires manual administrator verification.

Emails Are Not Being Delivered

Install and configure an SMTP plugin using a valid email service.

31. Updating the Theme

Before updating:

  1. Create a complete website backup.
  2. Back up the database.
  3. Back up customized theme files.
  4. Test the update on a staging website.
  5. Confirm that marketplace pages and order functions still work.

Direct modifications made to the parent theme may be overwritten during an update. Use a child theme for permanent customization.

32. Copyright and Third-Party Content

Taskvera uses an original marketplace structure inspired by common service marketplace workflows.

Before publishing a production website:

  • Replace demo text and images.
  • Use properly licensed media.
  • Add your own logo and branding.
  • Publish an original Privacy Policy.
  • Publish Terms of Service.
  • Publish a Refund Policy.
  • Publish seller and buyer rules.
  • Verify compliance with local payment and marketplace regulations.
