1. Overview

Darsivo combines a public Islamic education website with role-based school management features for administrators, head masters, teachers, parents and students.

Public website

Homepage, programmes, academics, campus life, gallery, teacher profiles, notices, contact information and admissions.

Management system

Admissions, approved student records, fee bills, payments, examinations, results, timetables, messaging, opinions and notifications.

Account portals

Separate front-end access for Parent, Student, Teacher and Head Master roles, with role-aware dashboard navigation.

Bangladesh support

Bangla-first interface, BDT currency, manual bKash/Nagad/Rocket/bank instructions and optional SSLCOMMERZ integration.

Important: Core database tables, pages, roles and dashboard modules are installed by the theme itself. Back up the website and database before activation, migration or update.

The theme header reports compatibility through WordPress 6.8. Confirm compatibility in a staging site before using a newer major WordPress or PHP release.

3. Installation

Install from WordPress

Back up all site files and the database.

Open Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme.

Select darsivo-v2.0.26.zip, then choose Install Now.

Activate Darsivo – Islamic School & Madrasa Management WordPress Theme.

Open the new Madrasha / Darsivo administration menu and complete the settings.

Open Settings → Permalinks and click Save Changes once.

What activation creates

Theme-specific database tables for admissions, bills, payments, results, notices, timetables, examinations, messages and parent opinions.
Parent, Student, Teacher and Head Master WordPress roles.
Required portal pages and public pages when matching pages do not already exist.
Default school settings and scheduled monthly fee processing.

Do not upload the extracted theme folder as a ZIP containing another parent folder. WordPress must see style.css directly inside the darsivo theme directory.

4. Quick Start Checklist

Activate the theme.
Go to Darsivo → Settings and replace all demo school information.
Add the school logo through Appearance → Customize → Site Identity.
Configure parent registration, payment mode, admission fee and SMTP.
Create Teacher and Head Master accounts from Darsivo → Staff Accounts.
Review the automatically generated pages and publish any that were left in draft.
Create the main menu and footer menu from Appearance → Menus.
Add programmes, featured teachers, top students, campus content and gallery items.
Test parent registration, login, admission, payment and dashboard on a non-admin account.
Test email delivery and payment callbacks before launch.

5. Automatically Generated Pages

Darsivo creates the following pages only when a page with the matching stored ID or slug does not already exist. Existing administrator-authored content is preserved.

6. User Roles and Access

Staff security: There is no public Teacher or Head Master registration. Create these accounts only from Darsivo → Staff Accounts. Teacher passwords must be at least eight characters, and custom login IDs support letters, numbers, dots, underscores and hyphens.

7. Admission Workflow

A parent creates an account or logs in.

The parent opens Admission Application from the public page or dashboard.

The application is saved against the logged-in user ID and registered email.

An administrator reviews it in Darsivo → Admissions.

The administrator sets the application to Pending, Approved or Rejected.

When applicable, the approved student becomes available for billing, results and other linked modules.

Admission fee

Enable admission fee collection in Darsivo → Settings → Admission Fee Payment. Set the label, amount and due period. The payment method follows the site's manual/API payment configuration.

Login protection: Logged-out users cannot submit the admission form. The interface shows Parent Login and Parent Registration actions, while server-side validation also blocks direct unauthenticated submissions.

8. Dashboard

The dashboard page must contain [eduvision_dashboard]. Navigation and panels change according to the logged-in user's role.

Desktop sidebar remains fixed to the viewport and has independent internal scrolling.
At 980px and below, the sidebar becomes an off-canvas mobile menu.
The hamburger icon changes into a close icon when the sidebar is open.
Notification badges are stored per user and clear when the notification panel is opened.
New notices, unread messages and newly completed examinations can increase the badge again.

Dashboard troubleshooting

When the dashboard layout looks like a normal page, confirm that the page contains the exact shortcode, the theme is active and caching/minification has been cleared.

9. Fees and Payments

Fee bills

Create bills from Darsivo → Fee Bills. Select an approved student, fee type, amount, due date and description. Bills appear in the linked parent's dashboard.

Payment methods

Manual

Configure bKash, Nagad, Rocket and bank details. Parents submit transaction information or proof for administrator verification.

SSLCOMMERZ API

Choose Sandbox or Live, enter Store ID and Store Password, then test the complete payment and callback flow.

Both

Display manual and API options together so the parent can choose an available method.

Currency

Theme fee and payment modules are configured for Bangladesh Taka (BDT).

Before live payments: use HTTPS, enter live credentials, verify callback accessibility, disable maintenance-mode restrictions and complete a real low-value transaction test according to the gateway's rules.

10. Examinations and Results

Create examination schedules from Darsivo → Exam Timetable.
An examination can contain multiple subjects with individual dates, start times and end times.
The system treats the examination as complete only after all subject end times have passed.
Teachers submit results for their assigned classes; Head Masters and Administrators have broader access.
Parents and students view published results from the dashboard or results page.
Optional result email notifications can be enabled under SMTP settings.

Use the timetable shortcodes when a public standalone timetable page is needed.

11. Notices, Messages and Opinions

Notice Board

Publish and manage school notices from Darsivo → Notice Board. Notices can appear in dashboard notifications.

Parent–Teacher Chat

Authorized users can exchange internal messages through the dashboard or [eduvision_chat].

Parent Opinions

Parents submit feedback through [eduvision_parent_opinion]; administrators review it under Darsivo → Parent Opinions.

Contact Messages

The contact shortcode stores contact submissions for school review and reply.

SMTP

Configure host, port, encryption, authentication, username, password, From email and From name under Darsivo → Settings. Use Save and Send SMTP Test before enabling operational email notifications.

SMS

Use the Darsivo SMS administration screen to configure a supported SMS gateway and test delivery. Never publish gateway credentials in public documentation, screenshots or support tickets.

Menus

Open Appearance → Menus, create a menu and assign it to Primary Menu. A second menu can be assigned to Footer Menu.

Logo and identity

Open Appearance → Customize → Site Identity to upload the logo. Configure the operational school name, English name and tagline inside Darsivo settings.

15. Customization Guidance

Use a child theme for custom PHP templates or major CSS changes.
Use the Customizer and theme settings for branding and content wherever available.
Do not rename internal eduvision_ functions, option keys, database tables, roles or capabilities. They are intentionally retained for upgrade compatibility.
Do not edit payment credentials directly in theme files.
Clear browser, page cache, object cache and CDN cache after CSS or JavaScript changes.

16. Updating the Theme

Create a complete file and database backup.

Test the new version on a staging copy.

Upload the new Darsivo ZIP through WordPress or replace the existing darsivo folder using your deployment process.

Activate/confirm the theme, then visit the dashboard once so migration hooks can run.

Save permalinks and clear all caches.

Test login, dashboard, admission, results, payments, email and mobile navigation.

Upgrade compatibility: Version 2.0.26 changes the public theme name, folder, slug and text domain but preserves the existing eduvision_ data prefixes so prior installations can continue using their stored data.

17. Troubleshooting

Problem	Resolution
WordPress says the theme is missing style.css	Upload the distributable ZIP containing the `darsivo` folder, not a ZIP wrapped in an extra parent directory.
Portal page shows only shortcode text	Confirm Darsivo is active and the shortcode spelling is exact. Disable conflicting shortcode/security filters temporarily for testing.
Dashboard is not full width	Use the generated Dashboard page containing only `[eduvision_dashboard]`; clear template and CSS caches.
Mobile menu does not open	Clear JavaScript optimization caches and temporarily disable script delay/defer features to identify conflicts.
Admission form is hidden	The user must log in as a Parent/user account. Confirm parent registration is enabled or create the account manually.
Parent cannot see a student or bill	Confirm the admission/student record is approved and linked to the same Parent user account.
Email is not delivered	Run the SMTP test, verify host/port/encryption, inspect spam, and ask the host whether outbound SMTP is blocked.
SSLCOMMERZ payment fails	Check environment and credentials, confirm HTTPS, allow callback URLs through firewall/security plugins, and test in Sandbox first.
Changes do not appear	Clear WordPress cache, object cache, CDN cache and browser cache.
404 on generated pages	Open Settings → Permalinks and click Save Changes.

18. Security and Privacy

Use HTTPS and a current supported WordPress/PHP stack.
Use strong unique administrator and staff passwords.
Do not create public staff registration forms.
Restrict administrator access to trusted personnel.
Store only necessary student and guardian information and follow applicable privacy laws.
Back up the database regularly and test restoration.
Never include SMTP, payment or SMS secrets in screenshots, public tickets or exported documentation.
Keep WordPress, the theme and all installed plugins updated after staging tests.
